Two days ago we went on the road to Hana for the second time. This time we didn’t do as much, but we did go to a black sand beach. At the beach we did a lot of body surfing. The sand is black because it was lava rock that crumbled down to size. After that we we went to a lava tube. A lava tube is a place where lava used to flow and made a tube that you can walk through. Don’t worry, lava hasn’t flowed for thousands of years in this tube. They gave us flashlights because it was really dark. In fact, it was pitch black. The next day, we went up Haleakala. It is a 10,000 foot tall mountain. When we got to the top it was really cold. Mom did not want to get out of the car cause it was so cold. When we drove back the road had a lot of swerves.
Mahalo!

Hi Miya,
I've tried to comment on your blog twice,
but can't get it to work. I have shared all of your posts with the
class, a couple of times. They have enjoyed hearing about your travels.
I think they really like seeing the pictures too. They have shared a
few things with me that they wanted to ask you. Like, is the weather
nice there, because it is raining here and it snowed on the weekend:(
Are you still having fun or do you miss home? We sang two songs with
Paul Hann at an assembly on Friday, May 18th, one we wrote with him
called "Proud to be Canadian". We missed your nice singing voice. Last
week we planted seeds and are keeping journals watching and recording
their growth.
Hope you continue to have fun on your trip. We'll see you when you get back.
The weather is great here. It is usually sunny but sometimes it rains a little bit. Sometimes it's windy too. The wind feels great. It feels like a hair dryer. It's really windy but it's warm too.
I am missing home a lot but I'm having a lot of fun too.
I'll see you in a little over a week!
From,
Mrs. Fraser and your friends in Room 13
